You might not be able to receive verification codes in the following cases:

1. When you're signing in or creating an account using your phone number or email address.

2. When you're adding a recovery phone.

3. During 2-step verification.

Here's why you might not be able to receive SMS verification codes:

1. Your recovery phone is no longer available and you have to add a new one.

  • A. If your recovery phone is no longer in use, press here to sign in to your account and change your phone number.
  • B. If you forgot your password, reset the password and sign in using the new one, or reset your recovery options and sign in via SMS.

2. Your SMS inbox is full or there isn't enough free storage on your device. Clear your inbox or free up storage space and try again.

3. You are in the area with poor network coverage or your device is powered off when it's supposed to receive the SMS message.

4. Dual SIM settings might prevent you from receiving the verification code. Try swapping your SIM cards.

5. You haven't powered off your device for a very long time. Reboot it and try again.

6. Your phone's balance is insufficient.

7. You unsubscribed from or blocked promotional or service-related SMS through your carrier. Contact customer support to subscribe again.

8. You reached the limit for the number of verification codes that can be sent within one day.

You can receive only 5 verification codes within 24 hours.
If you've already reached this limit, try signing in again after 24 hours.

Here's why you might not be able to receive email verification codes:

1. Verification codes emails were labeled as spam by your email service.

Check your spam folder to see if the verification codes from Mi Account went there.

2. Mi Account's email address was blocked.

Unblock account-service@xiaomi.com and add it to exceptions.

3. Mi Account's email address was blocked by the custom email server.

Contact the email service provider and ask to unblock account-service@xiaomi.com and add it to exceptions.
